Workplace Wellbeing Week (WWW) was 11-15th October 2021 and offered a variety of sessions across the Healthy Workplace service’s main themes of Mental Health, Eat Well, Be Active, Rest Well, and Be Smokefree, Drug free and Drink Aware.

The week was marketed through the Healthy Workplace (HWP) service website and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter), Cambridge chamber (magazine and online) as well as word of mouth via HWP service members and partners.

The purpose of WWW was twofold.

  1. To provide further added value to workplaces we are currently engaged with
  2. To recruit new workplaces into the service

Overall, the week went very well and was a success. Of the sessions on offer (there were 15 to start with, 2 – Netwalking events led by Living Sport – were in person and 3 were trainings:

  • MECC (Making Every Contact Count)
  • Workplace Walk Leader workshop
  • Mental Health Awareness

While a few sessions were cancelled due to low numbers, the final delivery was 13 sessions delivered during the week. Among the highlights from the week:

  • 9 new organisations (to the Healthy Workplace service) joined 1 or more sessions and were approached after. 5 have signed on so far
  • 1 Workplace signed up to Disability Confident following the session with Papworth Trust
  • The trainings were all well recieved:
    • Open session for Back to Basics (B2B) Mental Health awareness had 6 attend
      • “Thank you for an interesting session. This is what I want for my managers.”
    • Walk Leader had 6 as well
      • “Thank you, Alex. This session was very useful for starting a walking group at lunchtime.”
    • MECC had 5 attend.
  • Clearly, there is a desire for more mental health and resiliency information and resource. Cambs Workplace Chaplaincy/ Wellbeing hub session and Mental Health Policies in Practice were the most registered and best attended sessions, implying mental health and resilience continue to be very important issues in workplaces and in need of more support.
    • As a result, Cambridgeshire Workplace Chaplaincy and Healthy Workplace service are cosponsoring a short series of resiliency events 2 and 9 Dec. For more info and to reserve your places, follow this link – Everyone Health – Booking by Bookwhen.
