A Healthy Workplace is a workplace that:

  • Has policies and procedures in place to support employee health and wellbeing
  • Is successful in reducing absenteeism and presenteeism
  • Is committed to ongoing improvement and development to support employee health and wellbeing further

A workplace Health Champion is usually a colleague who is passionate about improving colleagues health and wellbeing. They would normally have received some relevant health and wellbeing training such as the RSPH Level 2 in Understanding Health Improvement. Their roles will include talking to colleagues about healthy lifestyle behaviours and supporting the workplace in campaigns such as National No Smoking Day and Walk to Work week etc.
